Mary Louise McCoy's Obituary
Mary Louise McCoy, 85, passed away on July 11, 2022 at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny, Iowa. She was born on September 20, 1936 near Omaha, Missouri to Darwin and Mary Hinerman. Louise attended the Berry grade school then graduated from Livonia High School in 1954. She was united in marriage to Lester McCoy in 1957 and to this union 3 daughters were born: Debbie Carter, Dena Courtney, and Dottie Abrahamson. They resided for many years on a farm southeast of Centerville, Iowa.
Louise always had a big garden on the farm, and enjoyed planting many flowers and vegetables. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, taking care of her family, doing puzzles, and word search books. She was a member of Sharon Chapel Church and a member of the Centerville 1880 Club. She loved her grandkids and family.
She is survived by her daughters Dena (Ed) Courtney of Galt, Missouri and Dottie (Brian) Abrahamson of Ankeny, Iowa; 3 step children Laretta (Ed) Seeley of Centerville, Iowa: Mitchel (Pat) McCoy of Jenks, Oklahoma, and Craig (Benita) McCoy of Centerville, Iowa; a brother Gary Hinerman of Kirksville, Missouri; grandchildren: Lee Carter, Brian Courtney and Zach (Maggy) Courtney, and Laura, Justin, and Christopher Abrahamson, and several step grandchildren, great grand children, nieces and nephews.
Louise was preceded in death by Lester McCoy, her parents, daughter Debbie Carter, sister Jaunita Harrelson, brother Garold Hinerman, all of her sisters -in-law and brothers -in-law, and grandchildren Chantra McCoy and Taylor Abrahamson.
Funeral service will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service from 2-3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the 1880 Club in Centerville, Iowa and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com or facebook.com/thomasfuneralhome. A private family interment will be held at the Sharon Chapel Cemetery in Centerville at a later date.
