Mary E. McCoy's Obituary
Mary E McCoy age 74 passed away Sunday February 20, 2022 at the Golden Age Manor in Centerville IA where she had been a resident for the past few years.
She was born July 29,1947 in Greentop, MO to Seth and Lillie Sarah Ethel (Stender) McCoy. She graduated from high school in Independence, MO. She lived in several places around the country including McKenzie, TN, Fairbanks, AK, Palatka, FL, Lee Summit, Mo and Centerville, IA. Mary was a very outgoing person and gathered friends everywhere she went. She worked as a CNA when she was younger and a Home Health Care Provider before retiring.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, McArthur McCoy, Stanley McCoy, Betty LeClaire, Evelyn Houston, Ruth Woodward, Frank McCoy Sr, Charlie McCoy and Marjorie Hubbard.
She is survived by her Brother-in-law Lowell Houston of Moulton IA, lots of nieces and nephews from all over the country and extended family, Lois Heartley of Centerville IA and David (Linda)Houston of Fulton, MO. All of whom loved to hear her stories of adventures and the vast number of people she knew. She was creative, funny and entertaining and we will miss her greatly.
A special Thank You to the staff at Golden Age Manor if Centerville. She really enjoyed being there.
The funeral service for Mary will take place on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 1:30PM at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Visitation will be the night prior on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 5:00PM-7:00PM. Interment will take place at Hardin Cemetery in Moulton, Iowa.
