Mary Lucile Irelan's Obituary
Mary Irelan, age 96, of Moulton, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Elic and Callie (Riggle) Perkins on July 13, 1914 in Exline, Iowa. She graduated from the Exline High School in 1932.On November 8, 1933, Mary was united in marriage to Robert E. Irelan at the Christian Church parsonage in Centerville, Iowa. They farmed for many years west of Moulton, Iowa. She was a homemaker and her family was her greatest joy. She was baptized in the Exline Christian Church and then transferred her membership to the Moulton Christian Church. She is preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Robert E. Irelan on December 27, 2001; son, Gerald Irelan on January 29, 1998; brothers, Ray, Lester, Max, Verl, John and Paul Perkins; sisters, Agnes Perkins, Bernice Brown, Atha Smith and Wilma Lister.Mary is survived by: her daughter, Judith Lawson and her husband, Jerald of Moulton, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Martha Irelan of Exline, Iowa; five grandchildren, Jerilyn Inman and her husband, Greg of Moulton, Iowa, Janelle Clausen and her husband, John of Moulton, Iowa, Jara Cassady and her husband, Bryan of Moulton, Iowa, Max Irelan and his wife, Melissa of Evensville, Illinois and Nancy Phillips of Centerville, Iowa; Eleven great grandchildren; One great, great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 1 pm at the Moulton Christian Church with Rev. Reg Higginbottom officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22, 2011 from 2 pm until 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, Iowa. The family will be present from 6 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to the Moulton Christian Church and can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
