Mary Corder's Obituary
Mary Corder, age 84, of Cincinnati, Iowa, died Sunday, February 29, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born the daughter of John and Carrie (Gravenor) McMorrow on August 6, 1919 in Centerville, Iowa. She graduated from the Cincinnati Community Schools in Cincinnati, Iowa.On July 15, 1945, Mary was united in marriage to Ted Corder in Cincinnati, Iowa. She was a store clerk at Spurgeons, Gambles and for 11 years was in the Catalog Department at JC Penneys all in Centerville. Her and her husband were part of the 'Harmony Hymn Singers' on the KCOG Radio station. She wrote the May Flower News in the Iowegian Newspaper in Centerville for the Cincinnati and surrounding area. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Cincinnati.Mary was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, James and Pearl McMorrow; and sister, Mabel Huffman.She is survived by: her husband, Ted Corder of Cincinnati, Iowa; son, Don Miller of Port Orange, Florida; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2004 at 10:30 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Donald Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Cincinnati, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2004 from 2 till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 6 till 8 pm at the funeral home.
