Mary Ann was my second mother. She told me when I was little that she showed me how to walk. I used to go to the races with her and Joe until I was about 17 years old and we used to keep track of the points of all the drivers at Knoxville. When I decided to get married she had a wedding shower for me and even sold me her old house after she built her new one. Me and Fred helped Mary Ann take care of Joe the last six months he was alive. I went to her house every night after work for a couple of hours to help get him ready for bed. She was very dedicated to keeping Joe out of the nursing home and she accomplished that. Mary Ann and me used to go eat lunch at the Mystic community center and then we would go to town to buy groceries, usually stopping at Sonic for a strawberry shake. I was her driver for quite a few years since she didn't like to drive that much. Joe had her spoiled, he always drove when they went somewhere.
She was a tough lady but a great one. I will miss her
