Marvin Sharp's Obituary
Marvin Daryl Sharp, 81, passed away on September 12, 2019 at Wayne County Hospital. He was born on September 1, 1938 to James and Goldie (Reed) Sharp and grew up in rural Wayne County, graduating from Seymour High School in 1958. Shortly after Marvin's birth, his father, James passed away suddenly and Bryan VanDorn later became a great stepfather to Marvin, bringing stepbrothers: Robert, Bill, Neil and Lloyd to the family and one stepsister, Pauline. Marvin and Osa Ann (Hand) were married on October 4, 1959. The couple are parents to Julie Ann, Susan Lynn and Randy Warren Sharp. Marvin was a hard, hard worker with huge hands to prove it. He worked for the City of Seymour for many years, Jones Dairy in Corydon, Johnson Machine works in Chariton, did various carpentry work around the area and finally had Sharp Tire Service at his home in Corydon before retiring several years ago. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather; his stepbrothers and stepsister; son-in-law, Jess and grandson-in-law, Steven. He is survived and remembered by his wife, Osie; daughters: Julie and Susan; son, Randy (Vicky); son-in-law, Tom; grandchildren: Daniel (Liz), Melissa, Katie (Steve), Lindsey (Chris), Matthew, Ashley (Ethan) and Alysha as well as great grandchildren: Caroline and Nell. Grandpa Marvin was always good for a laugh and seemed to always need $5 from his grandkids whenever they came to visit, although the memories he provided are priceless.
