Marvin E. Crane's Obituary
Marvin Crane, age 73 of Centerville died Saturday July 23, 2005 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, IA.
He was born in Carmi, IL, the son of Sydney and Lula (Mobley) Crane on August 27, 1931. He married Rose Creagan in Centerville July 27, 1974. He was a self employed truck driver for many years and worked for Craver Lumber from 1988 until their closing. He loved to garden and mechanics and especially loved to be with his grandchildren. His family was very important to him.
He is survived by his wife Rose of Centerville; one son Marvin Jr. of Moulton, Iowa; 5 grandchildren Cody Crane of Moulton, Jody Crane and his wife Penny of Centerville, Candy Crane of Moulton who were raised by Marvin and Rose, also Stacy Crane of Milan, IL, Kalyonnie Crane of Moulton; 4 great grandchildren Liz Opperman, Trenton Crane, Derick Hill, Makia Crane; three brothers Melvin Crane and his wife Eleanor of Chico, CA, Don Crane and his wife of Deana Corning, CA, Jim Crane and his wife Marlene of Corning, CA, a sister Lois Mathers and her husband Charlie of Days Creek, Oregon. Serveral nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Debbie; his parents; brothers Stanley, Merle, Byrd a sister Laverna Davis and a brother in-law Charlie Mathers.
Funeral services will be held1:30 PM Wednesday afternoon, July 27, 2005 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, Centerville with Pastor Gerald Campbell officiating.. Friends may call all day Tuesday with the family present from 6-9 PM. Cremation will take place following the funeral service. Burial of the cremains will take place at a later date.
