Marvin Duane Couchman's Obituary
Marvin Couchman, 95 of Moravia passed away, Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Mercy One - Centerville.
Marvin was born to Neil & Anna (Gunner) Couchman in Sewal, Iowa on April 3, 1927. Marvin was united in marriage to Twila Syfred on June 2, 1957, she would later precede him in death. Marvin then met Jane Mullins and would become life partners.
Marvin worked for the Rock Island Railroad for over 20 years. He enjoyed listening to local musicians when he was able and loved driving convertibles in local parades for many years. Marvin also loved sitting outside, and he enjoyed casual conversation. He enjoyed watching music shows on RFD TV, NASCAR cup series racing, western shows and he loved his cats.
Marvin was a member of the Seymour Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Mullins, children: Kim Poling (Rick), Tracy Thomas (Sandy), Twyla Hulme (Harold), 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren with one more on the way, siblings: Danny Couchman (Rosemary), Richard Couchman (Betty) and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Twila Couchman, brother, Rex Couchman and a sister, Donna Bryan.
Funeral service will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Interment will immediately follow at Shriver Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service from 12-1 pm.
