Marvin Leslie Bennington's Obituary
Marvin Leslie Bennington, age 83 of Centerville, Iowa, died Monday, July 7, 2008 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born the son of Earl and Lila (Myers) Bennington on October 6, 1924 in Centerville South Dakota. He attended school in South Dakota.On February 20, 1954, Marvin was united in marriage to Iris 'Pat' Felton in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He moved from South Dakota to Centerville, Iowa to work on the Rathbun Dam as a dozer operator. He served his country during World War II in the US Navy from September 2, 1943 till his honorable discharge on March 31, 1946. He is preceded in death by: his parents, Earl and Lila Bennington; and a daughter, Linda Copeland.Marvin is survived by his wife, Pat Bennington of Centerville Iowa; his daughter, Judy Hopp of Glenwood, Iowa; his half-brother, Ole Halverson of Scottsdale, Arizona; his sister Dorothea Kelley of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
