Martha M. Johnson's Obituary
Martha M. Johnson, age 75, of Seymour, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at Lucas County Health Center in Chariton, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Henry H. and Mary Z. (Hickerson) Pettit on January 16, 1932 in Centerville, Iowa. She graduated from the Seymour Community Schools in 1949.On September 10, 1950, Martha was united in marriage to Jerry D. Johnson in Seymour, Iowa. She worked over 45 years as a school bus driver for the Seymour Community Schools. She was a very active mother and grandmother. She enjoyed attending all of the school activities, cooking for her family, camping and fishing trips as well as biking and spending time playing games at her home. She dearly loved her family and each one held a special place in her heart.She was preceded in death by: her parents and husband, Jerry D. Johnson on July 17, 2005.Martha is survived by: her children, Jerry 'Paul' Johnson and his wife, Monica of Des Moines, Iowa; David Johnson and his wife, Deanna of Seymour, Iowa; Marilyn Boggs and her husband, Alva of Seymour, Iowa; Carole Maske and her husband, Bill of Truro, Iowa and Mollie Banks and her husband, Sam of Seymour, Iowa; her sister, Roma Young of Seymour, Iowa; grandchildren, Jerry Ray Johnson, Jacqueline Johnson, Jamie Johnson, Jerry Richard Johnson, Dalton Johnson, Delani Johnson, Anthony Boggs, Mary Ann Boggs, Justin Boggs, Abraham and Stephanie Maske, Jeremy and Christine Maske, Robert Maske, Tiffany Maske, Taylor Banks, Tanner Banks and Trevor Banks; also twelve great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 21, 2007 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Kay Singley officiating. Burial will follow at the Southlawn Cemetery in Seymour, Iowa. Visitation will be open from 2 pm till 8 pm on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home.Memorials can be made to the Seymour Community Center and left at the funeral home.
