Marlin G. Nuckolls' Obituary
Marlin Glen Nuckolls, age 81, of Unionville, Iowa passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021 at his home.
Marlin was born on September 25, 1939 in Earlham, Iowa, the son of Jess Glen Nuckolls and Doris Arlene (Smith) Nuckolls. Following school, Marlin enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. He served as an MP during the Vietnam era, and was honorably discharged. On December 30, 1975, he was united in marriage to Mary Lou Waterman in Bethany, Missouri.
Marlin was a building contractor for nearly 30 years. He was then an over the road truck driver for 10 years. Marlin was the Mayor of Unionville, Iowa for several years. He began his membership with the American Legion in Ottumwa, before transitioning to Unionville American Legion in the late 1990s.
Left to honor Marlins memory are his wife, Mary Lou of Unionville; his children, Dianna Knapp of Warsaw, Indiana, Pamm Chappell of Linchburg, Virginia, Todd (Keri) Nuckolls of La Vale, Maryland, Scott (Gina) Nuckolls of Des Moines, Robb (Margaret) Nuckolls of Des Moines, Roxanne Cagwin of Hutto, Texas, and Michael Glen Nuckolls of Richland, Iowa; a brother, Gary Nuckolls of Grimes, Iowa; a sister, Kay Blackford of Hutto, Texas; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marlin was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Doris Nuckolls; and five siblings.
According to Marlins wishes, cremation has been accorded. Private family services will be held. Burial take place at a later date at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter. Memorials have been established to the Family of Marlin Nuckolls, to be determined at a later date, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, C/O Nuckolls family, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
