Mark James Stewart's Obituary
Mark James Stewart, age 36 of Marion, Iowa, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, June 6, 2021.
Mark was born on July 6, 1984, the son of John Calvin Stewart and Cynthia (Woodley) Stewart. He graduated from Centerville High School with the Class of 2002. He furthered his education at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. On August 7th 2016, Mark was united in marriage to Stephanie Kies, and to this union, Mark and Stephanie became proud parents of Calvin Joseph and Isla Ann Stewart.
After college, Mark lived in Dubuque before returning to Cedar Rapids. Upon his return, he was employed with Berthel Fisher Companies in 2015. Mark was absolutely loved by his coworkers. He was recently promoted as an SM&R Specialist.
Mark will be remembered for his hard-working spirit, his values, as well as his ready smile. Mark was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and there was never a dull moment when he was around. His family was the most important element of his life. He loved them very much, and was truly a good husband, father, son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin.
Left to honor Marks memory are his wife, Stephanie Stewart of Marion, Iowa; his children, Calvin Joseph Stewart and Isla Ann Stewart of Marion; his father, John Stewart of Centerville; his mother, Cynthia (Tim) Hibdon of Winterset; his grandmother, Lois Stewart of Leon; a brother, Johnie (Jill) Stewart of Centerville; a nephew Cole Russell; four step siblings, Holly, Megan, Danielle and Tony; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
Mark was preceded in death by his grandfather, Calvin Stewart of Leon; and maternal grandparents, Billy Joe and Roberta Woodley, as well as his beloved dog Addie.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00PM, Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with family friend, Paul Deininger officiating. Visitation will take place, Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 2-4 PM. A private family inurnment will take place at Numa Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Calvin and Isla, for their education fund, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, C/O Stewart family, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
