Marjorie E. Sheehan's Obituary
Marjorie E. Sheehan, 85, of Allerton, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024 at her home.
Marjorie was born on August 11, 1938 in Allerton, Iowa to John and Lela Ruby (Couchman) Hart. She received her education from a country school and later from Allerton High School. After high school, Marjorie took a job at the Allerton Milk Plant, where she met her future husband, Garold Sheehan. She worked at the milk plant for over 50 years.
On May 20th, 1960 Marjorie was united in marriage to Garold. She enjoyed painting and later became known for being "techy". She enjoyed doing puzzles and playing games on her iPad. Marjorie enjoyed attending her grandkids sports activities and family outings. Her nieces and nephews affectionately referred to her as "Shorty".
Survivors include her daughter, Monica (Mike) Fogelson of Roach, MO; grandchildren, J. Miles (Bri) Fogelson of Grimes, Iowa, Megan Fogelson of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband Garold; parents, John and Lela Ruby Hart; brothers, Richard, Marvin and Duane; sisters, Mildred Cobb and Doris Halfhill; brother-in-law's, Theodore Cobb, Marvin Halfhill, Ralph Lee Sheehan, Melvin Sheehan and Robert Myers; son-in-law Brent Neese; sister-in-law's, Ruth Ann Sheehan, Opal Butler, Shirley Myers and Margaret Salisbury.
Funeral Services for Marjorie will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon, Iowa with interment to immediately follow at the Allerton Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, June 24, 2024 at the funeral home with family present from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Memorials in honor of Marjorie made be made to Allerton First Responders, Allerton Fire Department or The Old Time Soda Fountain and sent to Thomas Funeral Home 303 E.
