Marjorie Ousley's Obituary
Marjorie Jane Ousley, 84, died February 2, 2010, at Rose Medical Center in Denver, CO. Marjorie was born August 17, 1925 to Dora (Brooks) and LeeRoy Sanders. She was the eldest of 4 children.
In 1946 she married Walter L. (Sapp) Ousley and they had five children from this union. Marjorie attended Centerville High School. She worked at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital as a dietician's aid and retired from that position.
After retirement, she began working at the congregate meal site while also volunteering at the 18-80 Club. Marjorie served as a member of a number of boards and organizations. She was an active lifetime member of Second Baptist Missionary Church.
Her family was her treasure. Preceding her in death are two sisters, her husband Walter, a son, Richard L. Ousley, a grandson and great-granddaughter. Surviving family members include: her daughters Geraldine Bennett (Des Moines IA), Eloise Ousley (Denver CO), Cecile C. Barnes (Des Moines IA), and Linda Ousley (St. Paul MN). One brother, Richard L. Sanders (Denver CO), 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marjorie dedicated her life to helping and serving others. She never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed by many.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM, Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Joseph Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. A visitation will be held Tuesday, February 9 at Lange Funeral Home with the family present 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established and may be left at or mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544. Condolences may be left online at www.langefh.com.
