Marjorie Main's Obituary
Marjorie Helen Main, 97, of Moravia passed away Monday, September 25, 2017 at Westhaven Nursing Home in Boone. Marjorie was born to F. Eugene & Ruby (Moore) Boyer in Unionville, Iowa on July 15, 1920. She received her education from Moravia High School graduating in 1938. On September 28, 1940, Marjorie was united in marriage to Gaylord Main in Albia, Iowa. Marjorie had the great pleasure of being a homemaker. She enjoyed taking care of her family. Through the years, Marjorie was a member of the Unionville Methodist Church, she was involved in 4-H activities and also enjoyed various craft projects; she was an excellent seamstress. First and foremost, Marjorie was a farmer's wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include her daughter, Joanne Temple (Roger) of Boone, three grandchildren: Bradley Temple (Meredith) of Madison, Wisconsin, Kelli England (Shane) of Boone, Iowa, Jonathan Temple (Kelsy) of Ankeny, six great grandchildren: Ryan & Zachary Temple, Madison, Ty & Dylan England, Scarlette Temple, two sisters-in-law; Jeraldyn Boyer of Danville, California, Marjorie Main of Des Moines and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gaylord on January 10, 2013, three siblings: Icel Koehler, Mary Lulu Stocker and Clifford Boyer. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Joan Ervin officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Unionville Cemetery. Visitation will take place Wednesday, September, 27, 2017 at Thomas Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8. Memorials may be given to Unionville United Methodist Church or Moravia Historical Society and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com.
