Marjorie E. Lyons' Obituary
Marjorie E. Lyons, age 88, of Centerville, Iowa and a former Exline, Iowa resident, died Monday, February 20, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Clyde and Elnora (Large) Rowan on May 11, 1923 in Numa, Iowa. She graduated from the Centerville Community Schools.On April 5, 1942, Marjorie was united in marriage to Wilmer L. Lyons in Trenton, Missouri. They farmed for many years near Exline, Iowa. They were also known for raising Cocker Spaniels and Pomeranian dogs. She was a member of the Exline Methodist Church.She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Wilmer Lyons on May 22, 2010; a granddaughter, Rhonda Lyons; three sisters, Ruth Hatfield, Icel Rowan and Olive Haines; five brothers, Harry, Amel, George, Guy and Ray Rowan.Marjorie is survived by: her son, Roger Lyons and his wife, Kathleen of Mystic, Iowa; grandchildren, Marcy Thamke and her husband, Aaron of Centerville, Iowa and Richard Lyons and his wife, Lora of Moulton, Iowa; three great grandchildren, Shelby and Breanna Thamke and Seth and Levi Lyons.Services will be graveside on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 11 am at the Exline Cemetery in Exline, Iowa with Rev. Kay Singley officiating. Burial will follow in the Exline Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of services on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville.
