Elaine Logsdon's Obituary
Marjorie Elaine Logsdon, age 72, of Cincinnati, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Centerville Specialty Care, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
Elaine was born on August 10, 1953, in Decatur, Illinois, to Lyle and Marjorie (Priddy) Doom. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Elkhart High School, carrying the values of hard work and perseverance with her throughout her life.
On December 5, 1987, Elaine was united in marriage to Roy Logsdon in Centerville, Iowa. Together they built a life grounded in love, faith, and companionship, sharing many years of cherished memories.
Elaine spent much of her working years employed in factory production. Beyond her work, Elaine found joy in the hobbies and interests that filled her days. She was talented with a needle and thread and enjoyed sewing projects for herself and others. Music was another source of happiness, and she faithfully shared her voice as a member of her church choir. An avid reader, Elaine could often be found with a book in hand, enjoying stories that inspired, comforted, and entertained her.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. Elaine found strength in her beliefs and sought to live each day with kindness, compassion, and service to others. Her gentle spirit and steadfast faith were evident to all who knew her.
Elaine will be remembered for her loving heart, quiet resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and grace that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Though her earthly journey has come to an end, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain a lasting comfort to all who were blessed to know her.
Left to cherish Elaine's memory are her husband, Roy Logsdon; her step children, Jill, Jennifer and Eric; her brother, Robert Doom; her sister-in-law, Linda Doom; brother-in-law, Tim Ingalsbe; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Marjorie Doom; and her siblings, David Doom and Diane Ingalsbe.
Funeral services for Elaine will be held at 11AM, Monday, June 8, 2026 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Burial will follow the service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati. Visitation will take place Monday, June 8, 2026 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 10AM-11AM.
