Marion Bubenyak's Obituary
Marion Bubenyak, age 99 of Centerville, Iowa passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012 at the Golden Age Care Center in Centerville, Iowa.
She was born on January 25, 1913 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Edward and Mary (Danna) Dafflitto. Marion was raised in Centerville and graduated from Centerville High School. She married John Bubenyak on September 26, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri. John preceded her in death on April 2, 2002.
Marion worked several years at Brody's Clothing Store on the Centerville Square. Most importantly, she took care of her family, especially her daughter Maria.
In her free time she enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Marion's family loved her ""nut roll."" She liked gardening and canning vegetables. Marion enjoyed dancing to Polka music. She was active throughout her life at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville.
Marion is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter Maria Bubenyak-Dasho; her parents; three brothers, Frank, Joe, and Anthony Dafflitto; and a sister Marie Santa Dafflitto.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Oakland Cemetery in Centerville, Iowa with Father Dennis Schaab officiating. An open visitation will be held Thursday at Lange Funeral Home from 9 AM-12 PM. Memorials have been established to the St. Mary's Catholic Church and may be given to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
