Marilyn Shepard's Obituary
Marilyn Shepard, 78, of Centerville, passed away on January 11, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. Marilyn was born on March 21, 1940 in Brazil, Iowa to Edward and Myrtle (Cline) Seeley Sr. Marilyn graduated from Centerville High School in 1958. Later she attended Indian Hills Community College and Northeast Missouri State University. She was a self-employed tax accountant and held several jobs such as bookkeeper and office manager. On August 3, 1958 she married Dean Shepard in Brazil, Iowa and to this union, three children were born. Marilyn enjoyed her time as a member of the Eastern Star, was a lifetime member of the Hospital Auxiliary and enjoyed volunteering for many causes. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Dean; daughters: Denise (Mike) Asbury and Monica (Fletcher) Heard; brother, Edward (Laretta) Seeley, Jr.; sisters: Joyce Hart and Marie (Harry) Daugherty; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Dustin Shepard and her brother, Bob Seeley. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Interment will immediately follow at Highland Cemetery in Mystic. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Thomas Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family, distributions will be decided at a later date.
