Marie Stufflebeam's Obituary
Marie Stufflebeam, age 94, of Centerville, Iowa and a former Unionville, Iowa resident, died Monday, August 18, 2014, at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville, Iowa. She was born the daughter of William and Sarah (Walsh) Carr on April 24, 1920 near Melrose, Iowa. She attended the Albia Community Schools.In November of 1939, Marie was united in marriage to Ira Ernest Stufflebeam in Unionville, Missouri. Marie was a Switchboard Operator with the telephone company in Janesville, Iowa and later in Unionville, Iowa. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Ira Stufflebeam in 1970; sister, Rita Sulentic; brothers, Gerald, Raymond, Donnie and Billy Carr; and a great granddaughter, Courtney Micetich.Marie is survived by: sons, Joe Stufflebeam and his wife, Mary Lynn of Bloomfield, Iowa and Jim Stufflebeam and his wife, Martha of Unionville, Iowa; daughters, Judi Millemon and her husband, Ralph of Moravia, Iowa, Jean Smothers and her husband, Gary of Cincinnati, Iowa and Jane Meagher and her husband, Fla of Centerville, Iowa; also, nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am, Thursday, August 21, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville with Fr. Bill Hubmann officiating with burial to follow in the Taylor Cemetery east of Unionville, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from 2 pm until 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 6 pm until 8 pm. Memorials can be made to the American Legion in Unionville, Iowa and left or mailed to the funeral home.
