Marie Montegna's Obituary
Marie Montegna, age 85, of Centerville, passed away Monday, October 26, 2020 at her home.
Marie was born on May 1, 1935 in Mystic, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Oda (Fenton) Buban. She was united in marriage to Charles C. Montegna on August 26, 1953 at the Grace Tabernacle Church in Centerville. To this union, three children were born, Larry, Diane, and Sally.
In her formative years, Marie helped on the family farm. Later in life, she worked at McGraw Edison for several years. She then worked at Golden Age Care Center for many years, as well as other various nursing homes, as a Nurses Aide.
Marie loved watching T.V., especially the news. She was very involved in politics. She was raised in the Catholic Church. Marie enjoyed going for walks, but most importantly, she cherished her family. She loved to cook for them, especially beans and corn bread.
Left to cherish Maries memory are her children, Larry Montegna of Centerville, Diane (Mark) Rifenbery of Moulton, and Sally Clinkenbeard of Centerville; three grandchildren, Jessica (Darrin) Terry of Cincinnati, Jacob Montegna of Centerville and Michael (Clinkenbeard) Shively of Missouri; four great grandchildren; and three siblings, Charles Buban, Pauline Yensick, and Paul Buban.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Montegna; her parents, Frank and Oda Buban; and two brothers, Johnny Buban and Ronnie Buban.
Funeral services will be held at 12 PM, Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Father Timothy Armbruster officiating. Burial will follow the service at Haines Cemetery, north of Centerville. Visitation will take place Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, with the family greeting friends from 11 AM- 12 PM.
