Marie Santa Dafflitto's Obituary
Marie 'Santa' Dafflitto, age 91, of Centerville, Iowa died Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at the Mercy Medical Center, Centerville.
Santa was born June 17, 1915 the daughter of Edward and Mary (Danna) Dafflitto in Centerville, Iowa. She graduated from Centerville High School and continued her education at the Centerville Community College. She worked forty-two years for Social Security Administration and Civil Service in St. Louis, Missouri. She enjoyed knitting and enjoyed sports and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1996.
Santa is survived by a brother, Anthony (Bob) Robert Dafflitto of Donahue, Iowa; a sister Marion Bubenyak of Centerville, Iowa; a sister in law, Betty Daflitto of Knoxville, Iowa and five nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary; three brothers, Joseph, Russell, and Frank and Maria Dasho.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM, Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville with Fr. Ron Will C.PP.S officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery, Centerville, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Monday, with a rosary at 6:30 PM, at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, Centerville, Iowa. A memorial has been established to Mercy Medical Center Long Term Care or St. Mary's Catholic Church and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
