Marian Elliott's Obituary
Marian Elliott, 89 of Centerville, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at Mercy Long Term Care in Centerville, Iowa. Marian was born on June 7, 1930 to Charles "Addis" and Edna (Harl) Staggs in Seymour, Iowa. She received her education from Seymour High School, graduating in 1948. Marian was united in marriage to Donald L. Elliott in 1953 in Chula Vista, California where she was employed as a secretary in different offices until the couple moved back home to Iowa in 1954 to help care for family. Marian devoted her life for God and her family. She was always available and enjoyed caring for her friends and family members. Marian was considered to be a very neat and particular person. She always had herself and her home organized. Don and Marian left their home to reside in the Continental Annex. After Don's death, Marian continued to be active in her church, Solid Rock Church of God in Centerville. She then moved in to the Continental Hotel where she made new friends with whom she spent many afternoons and evenings. Marian is survived by her nieces and nephews, Rick Elliott (Melissa), Mike Elliott (Margie), Mark Wickam (Lori) and Sherry Middlebrook (Randy), and by their godson, Kriss Fox (Jackie). Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Don, her parents, and her sisters: Carolyn Wickam, and an infant sister, Dorothy Leona. Funeral service will be Friday, August 21, 2020 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with Rev. Howard Luscan officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Southlawn Cemetery in Seymour. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 pm.
