Marguerite Parsons' Obituary
Marguerite Emma Parsons, 100, of Centerville passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center Long Term Care in Centerville. Marguerite was born on July 12, 1918 in Centerville to George & Matilda (Anderson) Shinogle. She received her education from Centerville High School. Marguerite was united in marriage on May 21, 1939 to Gerold "Pat" Davis. He preceded her in death on February 12, 1974. On July 14, 1979, Marguerite would marry again, this time to Wendell Parsons. He preceded her on October 1, 2009. Marguerite lived and worked in Rockford, IL until Gerold passed away. She would return to Centerville and work until her retirement at Owl Pharmacy. Marguerite was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Centerville. She was also a member of the Dorcus Group. Marguerite enjoyed playing cards, bowling, social gatherings her and Wendell had every Pancake Day and winter trips to South Padre Island, Texas. Survivors include two step children: Joyce Crow (Don), Karen McDanel (Dean), three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, four step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, son-in-law, Byron Oberheim; sister-n-law, Rosemary Brown (Lloyd) and numerous extended family. She was preceded in death by two children: Gerold "Gary" Davis and Marcia Oberheim, husbands: Pat Davis and Wendell Parsons; parents and three siblings: Francis Shinogle, Louis Shinogle and Virginia Parsons. Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Thursday, September 13, 2018 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10-11 am. Interment will be at a later date in Oakland Cemetery.
