Marguerite ""Peggy"" Harvey's Obituary
Marguerite ""Peggy"" Harvey, age 88 of Centerville, Iowa passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Golden Age Care Center, Centerville.
Peggy was born December 31, 1925 in Centerville, Iowa to Albert and Lelah (Kirkpatrick) Thomas. She married Jack A. Harvey in Unionville, Missouri.
Peggy was employed with McGraw Edison for an estimated three years until the closing of the plant in Centerville. She then became a homemaker and took exceptional pride in caring for her home and family for many years.
In her free time she enjoyed taking car rides, including trips to the Pamida Store in Albia. Peggy found great pleasure in all shopping opportunities. More importantly, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Peggy was a long time member of the Solid Rock Church of God in Centerville.
She is survived by two children, Mike (Shelle) Harvey of Blakesburg, Iowa and Peggy Ann (Lonnie) White of Newton, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Todd (Jen) White, Melissa Wickliff (Ron Bookout), Michael (Paula) Harvey, Kjersten Harvey, Amber Harvey, Cassie (Brett) Leffler and Danielle (Kyle) Leffler; eight great grandchildren, Parker White, Libby White, Jake Harvey, Josie Harvey, Arianna Harvey, Bella Huff, Jeri Huff and Zach Wickliff; two sisters, Violet Garr and Lilah Thomas both of Centerville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; parents; and six siblings, Ernest Thomas, Wayne Thomas, Eugene Thomas, Franky Thomas, Kenny Thomas and Louise Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Lange Funeral Home & Crematory in Centerville with Reverend Tony Angran officiating. Visitation will be from 10AM -11AM on Wednesday at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory before the funeral service. Interment will be in Haines Cemetery, north of Centerville. A memorial has been established to the Golden Age Care Center, Centerville and may be left or mailed to the Lange Funeral Home & Crematory, 1900 South 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
