Margret Scott's Obituary
Margret Scott, age 78 of Moravia, Iowa passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center, Long Term Care in Centerville.
Margret was born April 10, 1936, the daughter of Milton and Bertha (Simmons) Stocker. She graduated from Moravia High School in 1954. On December 28, 1957 Margret married the love of her life, Walter Scott Jr. To this union of marriage three children were born, Kristy, Jeff and Bryan.
She was employed for twenty seven years at Union Carbide/Viskase in Centerville, Iowa, retiring in 1992.
Margret's family was the most important part of her life. She loved cooking for her grandchildren, especially beef and noodles. Moreover, family members never missed an opportunity to enjoy the pies that she would bake. Margret was an avid Iowa State fan.
Margret is survived by her husband, Walter Scott Jr. of Moravia, Iowa; three children, Kristy (Jerry) Coatney of Mystic, Iowa, Jeff Scott of Plano, Iowa and Bryan (Lori) Scott of Moravia, Iowa; five grandchildren, Tess Scott of Moravia, Cameron Scott of Moravia, Noah Coatney of Mystic, Abby Coatney of Mystic and Randy Pugh of Fairfield; one great grandchild, Braxton Firth; four sisters, Betty (Harold) Gruwell of Marion, Iowa, Edna Dicks of Centerville, Iowa, Bonnie Clancy of Ottumwa, Iowa and Margie Coghlan of Choctaw, Oklahoma; and sister-in-law, Carletta Stocker of Moravia, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, four sisters, two infant siblings, five brother-in-laws; and a sister-in-law.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Hillcrest Cemetery south of Moravia, Iowa with Pastor Dennis Doud officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to the Moravia First Responders and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
