Margret Ponsetto's Obituary
Margret Ponsetto, 78 of Centerville peacefully passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Monroe Care Center in Albia. Margret was born to Harold & Mollie (Bertelli) Ayers in Cincinnati, Iowa on April 12, 1938. She received her education from Centerville High School graduating in 1957. Margret was united in marriage to Larry "Joe" Ponsetto on October 12, 1957 in Centerville. After Joe's passing, Margret went back to school to earn a degree as a Registered Nurse, graduating from Indian Hills Community College. Margret loved spending time with her family hosting game nights, holiday gatherings, and going on trips. She enjoyed going to musicals and other live performances. She was very proud of her yard and flower gardens. She liked the Cubs and was thrilled with their 2016 World Series Championship. She was a Green Bay Packers fan, too. Margret loved being a nurse. She worked as an L.P.N. at Mercy Hospital in Centerville and then went on to earn her R.N. degree while she continued to work full time at the hospital. Her dream was always to do home health care. She was able to do that the last several years of her career. Margret was proud to be from Centerville. She loved the CHS class of â??57 and looked forward to Pancake Day and other community events. Survivors include her children: Rick Ponsetto (Lisa) of Clarence, MO., Carol Heffron (Larry) of Centerville, four grandchildren: Alicia Ponsetto of Centerville, Nichole Wells (Jeremy) of Centerville, Samarah Ponsetto of Clarende, Mo., Molly Heffron of Centerville, six great grandchildren, three siblings; Janice Hamlin (Ron) of Centerville, Steve Ayers (Jean) of Centerville and Doug Ayers (Debi) of Fairfield. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Ponsetto on September 1, 1977 and a sister Linda Vanderheyden. Funeral service will be 6:00 p.m., Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Kay Singley officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Interment will be Friday, February 3, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
