Margie Irene Edwards' Obituary
Margie Irene Edwards, age 76, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and a former resident of Unionville, Missouri, died Monday, May 30, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Earl Dea and Pebble Cleo (Miller) Knowles on June 11, 1934 in Unionville, Missouri. She received her education in the Unionville, Missouri schools.In May of 1962, Margie was united in marriage to James Watson Edwards in Princeton, Missouri, they were later divorced. She worked in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa Post Office for over 8 years and later would become a Supervisor at Iowa Medical Clinic in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.She was preceded in death by: her parents; a brother, Jessie 'Jay' Knowles; sisters, Ruth Black, Almeda Wood, Hazel Cichosz and Sylvia Speirs.Margie is survived by: her son, James and his wife, Corazon Edwards of Hiawatha, Iowa; daughters, Zondra and her husband, Dan Hopkins of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Karen Edwards of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Tracy Feye and Terry of Marion, Iowa and Brenda Krabbenhoft Edwards and her husband, Clint of Iowa City, Iowa; a brother, Raymond Knowles of Durham, Missouri and a sister, Deloris Dodd of Quincy, Illinois; fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren; also, a long time friend and coffee buddy, Connie Klein of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 11 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Kay Singley officiating. Burial will follow at the Unionville Cemetery in Unionville, Missouri. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 3 pm until 8 pm with the family present from 6 pm until 8 at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to St. Luke's Hospice and left at or mailed to the funeral home.
