Margery Ilene Wade's Obituary
Margery Ilene Wade, age 88, of Centerville, Iowa, died Sunday, January 20, 2013, at Continental Care Center in Seymour, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Herman and Florence Sarah (Hardisty) Nielsen on May 31, 1924 in Greenfield, Iowa. She graduated from the Peru High School in Peru, Iowa in 1944.Margery was first united in marriage to Wally S. 'Dub' Martin on May 4, 1947. Margery farmed with her husband and, along with him, opened and operated a grocery store in Troy, Missouri. Later on October 25, 1979, she was united in marriage to Fred Wade. She worked with Fred as a bookkeeper and secretary. She moved to the Centerville area in 2003 and had many dear friends and was involved in many activities. She was an active member of Mercy Medical Center's Hospital Auxiliary in Centerville and attended Drake Avenue Christian Church in Centerville.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husbands, Wally S. 'Dub' Martin and Fred Wade; brothers, Elmer Nielsen, Bobby Nielsen; sisters, Lela Sweikert, Zelpha Turner and Dorothy Patorry; and adopted sister Sandra Brashear.Margery is survived by: an adopted daughter, Gayle McDaniel of West Palm Beach, Florida; a brother, Larry Nielsen of Wellington, Florida; grandchild, Teresa Logan of Tampa, Florida; adopted sisters, Rama Harris, Anne Nielsen, and adopted brother Bill Burch.Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, January 25, 2013 at Drake Avenue Christian Church in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Sara Galindo officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 2 pm until 8 pm with the family present from 6 pm until 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville.Memorials can be made to Drake Avenue Christian Church and can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
