Margaret Jane McClurg's Obituary
Margaret McClurg, 90 of Centerville passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Mercy One - Des Moines.
Margaret was born to Virgil & Velma (Selby) Johnson on March 24, 1931 in Moravia. She received her education from Moravia High School, graduating in 1948. Margaret was united in marriage to Robert McClurg. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1965.
Margaret worked as a catalog typist for Success Barber Supply in Moravia.
Margaret enjoyed sports especially: Cubs baseball, Iowa State football, Iowa Hawkeye football and any sports her children and grandchildren were participating in.
Survivors include her daughter, Paula Jane Dal Ponte (Jack), grandchildren: Holli Kroeger (Craig), Kyle Dal Ponte (Hollie), Jackie Stajcar (Jack), Rachel McClurg, Ryan McClurg, Robert McClurg, great grandchildren: Allison Johnson (Brody), Brayden Kroeger (Siarah), Broedy Kroeger, Jacob Stajcar, and Jacob Schumann, great-great grandchildren: Maverick Johnson, Kamden Johnson, a sister, Beatrice Jones (Lyle) and numerous extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert McClurg and sons: Martin Ray McClurg and Norman Wayne McClurg.
A celebration of life will take place at 10:30 am on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with Kay Singley officiating. Interment will be immediately following at Hillcrest Cemetery near Moravia. Memorials may be given to the family which will be designated at a later date.
