Margaret Josephine (Sleeth) Kennedy, age 83, of Davenport, Iowa, formerly of Centerville, Iowa, died Thursday, August 19, 2004, at Genesis Medical Center - West Campus in Davenport, Iowa. She was born October 29, 1920 in Hackensack, Minnesota, the daughter of Charles and Lucy (Large) Sleeth.She attended Centerville Community Schools.On June 22, 1935, Margaret was united in marriage to Ralph Edwin Kennedy in Centerville, Iowa. Ralph preceded her in death. During her lifetime, Margaret was a homemaker and was also employed by Osteopathic Hospital in Davenport, Iowa. She was a member of the Edgewood Baptist Church in Rock Island, Illinois.She was also preceded in death by: her parents; an infant daughter, Roberta; a son, Robert Lee; four sisters; three brothers and a granddaughter.She is survived by: two daughters, Beverly Gott and her husband Duane and Kaye Costello and her husband Patrick all of Davenport, Iowa; one son, Ralph Kennedy, Jr. and his wife Faye of Clinton, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Judy Kennedy, of Davenport, Iowa; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Monday, August 23, 2004 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Ed Kuriscak officiating. Burial will follow at the Salem Cemetery southeast of Exline, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2004 from 1:00 pm til 8:00 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa.
