Margaret was born on October 3, 1946, in Seymour, Iowa, to Ruby Ada (Sharp) Butler and Clifford Harry Butler. She joined a family with two brothers and two sisters, and later welcomed a bonus brother, Terry Leazer, when her mother married Gene Leazer.
On October 25, 1964, Margaret married the love of her life, Wesley Green. Together, they shared more than 60 wonderful years of marriage and were blessed with three daughters: Teresa, Denise, and Susan. After their wedding, they made their home in Silvis, Illinois, where they began raising their family. They eventually returned to Promise City, Iowa, where they spent the rest of their lives together.
Margaret spent most of her career in the banking industry. Outside of work, she enjoyed being a mom, bowling, and playing cards with friends.
Later in life, Margaret found great joy in living on the farm, tending to her flower beds, making her famous homemade fudge, and hosting family and friends for countless reunions and holiday gatherings.
