Margaret A. Eklof-Lofgren's Obituary
Margaret A. Eklof-Lofgren, age 94, of Madrid, Iowa formaly of Centerville, Iowa, died Monday, July 5, 2010 at Boone County Hospital in Boone, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Homer and Alice (Hodges) Lee on September 2, 1915 in Centerville, Iowa. Margaret graduated from Centerville High School in Centerville, Iowa. Margaret was united in marriage to Elmer Eklof and after his passing, she was later united in marriage to Oscar Lofgren. She taught private piano lessons and was well known as a performer and a teacher. Margaret also was involved with the American Federation of Musicians and the Mendelson Club in Rockford, Illinois. She was also a member of the First Lutheran Church in Rockford, Illinois.She is preceded in death by: her parents; husbands, Elmer Eklof and Oscar Lofgren.Margaret is survived by: son, Jim and his wife, Jane Eklof of Clive, Iowa; step daughter, Nancy and her husband, Stan Lunquist of Winnebago, Illinois; grandchildren, Krystyn and her husband, Dennis Roberts of Lee Summit, Missouri and Jennifer and her husband, Jason Snider of Chicago, Illinois; step grandchildren, Jan Lunquist of Rockford, Illinois, Randy Lunquist of Rockford, Illinois, and Marti Lunquist of California; great grandchildren, Blake, Allie, and Alexis; step great grandchildren, Natasha and McKayla.Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Kathryn Franzenburg officiating at Oakland Cemetery in Centerville, Iowa.
