Margaret Jane Bradley's Obituary
Margaret Jane Bradley, age 88, of Centerville, Iowa, died Saturday, April 15, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Clarence L. and Amy (Wilson) Gray on February 6, 1918 in Centerville, Iowa. She graduated from the Centerville Community Schools in 1935.On March 6, 1937, Margaret was united in marriage to James Albert Bradley in Unionville, Missouri. She lived most of her life in Centerville, moving to Newton with her husband in 1962 and returning to Centerville in 1977. She worked for the Iowa Southern Utilities Company in the General Office as a bookkeeper after graduation from High School up to the time of her marriage. She later worked part time for the Iowa Employment office in both Centerville and Newton, Iowa. Margaret was a member of the Drake Avenue Christian Church, Chapter KA P.E.O. Sisterhood, and MXL Society. She was honored at Iowa State Teachers College (University of Northern Iowa) in 1960, having been selected as the 'Mother of the Year'.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, James Bradley on January 8, 2000; sister, Ruth Louise Lynn.Margaret is survived by: her daughter, Barbara Cortesio and her husband, John of Des Moines, Iowa; son, James Roger Bradley and his wife, Lila of Franktown, Colorado; Five grandchildren, Maria Osorio and Angela Harrington both of Parkland, Florida, Michael Cortesio of Downers Grove, Illinois, John Bradley of Rhome, Texas and Susanna Ogata of Wakefield, Massachusetts; and 11 great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at 11 am at the Drake Avenue Christian Church in Centerville with the Rev's Kay Singley and Joan White officiating. A private family burial will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. Public visitation will be held on Monday, April 24, 2006 from 1 till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville.
