Margaret L. Blazina's Obituary
Margaret Louise Blazina, age 90, died Monday, July 24, 2006 at the Kavanagh Hospice House in Des Moines Iowa.
Margaret was born June 30, 1916 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Charlie H. West and Dolly (Cloud) West. She married John J. Blazina in Centerville, Iowa on January 24, 1954. He preceded her in death on December 25, 1990. She graduated from Centerville High School and later worked for Spurgeon's Department Store in Centerville for 16 years. She also worked for the Centerville School system. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Margaret loved to do ceramics, crochet and sewing. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Margaret is survived by her brothers, Eugene (Minnie) West of Davenport, Iowa, Robert (Virginia) West of Des Moines, Iowa; and one sister, Mary (James) Banks of Republic, Missouri. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Ted, Charles, Richard, Jack and Jimmy West; and two sisters, Evelyn Rogers and Lucille Mullins.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 27, 2006 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Lloyd Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at the Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home all day Thursday with family present from 6-8 PM at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, Centerville. A memorial has been established to the Kavanagh Hospice House, 900 56th St., Des Moines, Iowa, 50312 and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
