Marceline Elizabeth Hogg's Obituary
Marceline Elizabeth (Large) "Granny" Hogg, age 87, of Centerville, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016 at her daughters home in Des Moines, Iowa with her family by her side.
She was born on May 13, 1929 in Atwood, Colorado, the daughter of Alfred Large and Lena Marvin. Marceline was united in marriage to Oney Hogg on May 26, 1949 in Unionville, Iowa.
She was a devoted member of the Gospel Peace Tabernacle Church on E. Terry Street in Centerville for many years. From time to time, she even led services at the church. Later, Marceline traveled to Kansas City to attend Gospel Tabernacle Church. Also, during this time, she attended The House of Prayer Church in Centerville. Marceline as loyally supported missionary work in both Israel and Jamaica.
Marceline is survived by her children, David (Raven) Hogg of Centerville, Rick Hogg of Centerville, Chug Hogg of Des Moines, Susie (Tim) Kepner of Des Moines, Kevin Hogg of Rochester, Minnesota; siblings, Charles Large of Albia, Milton "Butch" (Peggy) Garr of Numa, Nancy (Jim) Seddon of Walnut City, Mary (George) Eddy of Centerville, Pam Seals of Centerville; and a sister-in-law Violet Garr of Centerville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oney Hogg; son, Jerry Hogg; daughter, Nikki Sumpter; son-in-law, Randy Sumpter; two granddaughters, Heidi Hogg ad Ranee Hogg; great-granddaughter, Carley Arnold; brother, Cortland "Shorty" Garr; sisters, Carol Aldridge and Olive Thompson; sister-in-law, Diana Large; brothers-in-laws, Harold Aldridge and Leo Seals.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 2:00PM at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Brad Ratliff officiating. A visitation will take place Friday, August 5, 2016 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville with family present from 6-8PM. Burial will follow the funeral services at Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. Memorials may be made out to Lange Funeral Home to help pay for Marcelines funeral and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
