Madonna McVey Obituary's Obituary
MaDonna McVey, 81 of Centerville passed away Friday, March 6, 2015 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. MaDonna was born the 9th child of the family of ten born to Carl and Odessa Stripe in Humeston, Iowa on June 11, 1933. She received her education from Humeston High School graduating in 1951. On November 30, 1952 MaDonna was united in marriage to Clyde McVey. To this union were two children, Nick and Julie. MaDonna gave her life to Christ when she was 11 years of age at the Humeston Baptist Church. She rededicated her life in 2000 at the Drake Avenue Christian Church in Centerville. She loved to do crafts, sew and write poetry. MaDonna enjoyed her time with family and friends. She always enjoyed family and friends stopping by the house to visit. She was always there when her family needed her. Survivors include two children: Nick McVey of Corydon, Julie Woodley of Centerville, three grandchildren, Michael & Emily McVey of Corydon and Forrest Adam Peck of Des Moines. She is also survived by two siblings: Carolyn Riggle (Elmer) of Des Moines and Loren Stripe (Ellen) of Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Odessa, husband, Clyde McVey, daughter in law, Thelma McVey and seven siblings: Hildreth Keller, Millard Stripe, Wilma Lawrence, Max Stripe, Norma Weidenhaft, Carl Stripe Jr. and Bill Stripe. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2015 at Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon with Rev. Doug VanWey officiating. Interment will be in Corydon Cemetery immediately following. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon.
