Madilyn Joyce Billings' Obituary
Madilyn Joyce Billings, age 86, of Des Moines, formerly of Centerville, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at her home in Des Moines, Iowa, leaving behind a lifetime of love, devotion, and cherished family memories.
Madilyn was born on September 19, 1939, in Centerville, Iowa, to Lester and Opal (Clemens) Perry. On January 17, 1955, Madilyn was united in marriage to Jerry Dean Billings in Des Moines, Iowa. Together they built a life centered on love and family. Their union was blessed with two children, Darla and Michael, who remained the pride and joy of her life.
Madilyn devoted her life to her home and family as a homemaker, a role she embraced with great pride and care. She had a creative spirit and found joy in crocheting, often making thoughtful pieces for those she loved. She was a God-fearing woman in her own way, holding a deep and personal belief in God.
Above all, Madilyn treasured time spent with her family. Whether sharing stories, celebrating milestones, or simply enjoying one another's company, she found her greatest happiness surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her warmth, gentle nature, and quiet strength will be remembered by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish Madilyn's memory include her son, Michael Billings; six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; her sister, Dianna Kochheiser; and several extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Madilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Billings; her parents, Lester and Opal Perry; her daughter, Darla Moser; her brother-in-law, Ronald Kochheiser; her daughter-in-law, Angela Billings; her granddaughter, Tina Billings; and her siblings, Glenn (Joan) Perry, Daniel (Denise) Perry, and Robert Perry.
Per Madilyn's wishes, cremation has been accorded, and there are no services at this time.
