M Baker's Obituary
M. DEVEE BAKER M. DeVee Baker, 67, born to Laurel and Geneva Brown on May 9, 1942 in Confidence, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Baker on September 24, 1960 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Terri Fryman and Chris Foster. They also raised their oldest granddaughter Holly Baker as their own. They have seven other grandchildren: Brandon Wickett, Heather (Dugger) Richtsmeier, Jennifer Wickett, Valerie (Dugger) Fairchild, Cody Wickett, Kira Foster, and Chance Fryman. They also had seven great-grandchildren: Kylie Richtsmeier, Angeleigh Kramer, Joshua Ward, Trenton Ward, Kaitlyn Richtsmeier, Michael Wickett and Autumn Wickett. DeVee is also survived by a brother Ellis Brown and wife Sandy and five sisters Lois and husband Robert Ziegler, Bernita and husband Rod Simonson, Jan and husband Wayne Hancox, Joy and husband Carroll Gordy, and Elaine McGrann. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Allen Brown, and grandson Joshua Dugger. DeVee worked as an administrative assistant in marketing at STC in Pella for over 25 years before retiring due to health reasons. She enjoyed talking and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, crocheting, needlepoint, embroidery, bowling, watching TV, feeding and watching humming birds, growing flowers especially lilacs and peonies and other plants. She loved eating tomatoes, corn on the cob and fried potatoes. Her favorite TV shows were NCIS, Law & Order SVU, and home improvement/decorating. Once she got the "hang of it" as she put it sending e-mails to her siblings. She especially loved the jokes her sisters sent her.
