Lynley Ann Stogdill's Obituary
Lynley (Mulcahy) Stogdill, age 46, of Centerville, Iowa, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Larry Mulcahy and Lorraine (Rattray) Mulcahy on August 13, 1964 in Centerville Iowa. She graduated with honors from Centerville High School with the class of 1983. While attending CHS, she found a love for playing the saxophone. She would later attend the Iowa School of Beauty in Ottumwa, Iowa and earned her cosmetology license. Lynley was a member of First United Methodist Church in Centerville, IowaOn June 18, 1983 she was united in marriage to Mark Stogdill in Centerville, Iowa. She worked for a time at Le'Clipper in Centerville and later would work at Wal-Mart for over 20 years in Centerville, Iowa. She loved to watch her son, Nick's football games, decorating her home, and feeding birds and animals. On Sunday afternoons, she enjoyed watching her favorite Nascar driver - #24 Jeff Gordon.Lynley is preceded in death by: her maternal and paternal grandparents.She was a devoted wife and mother and is survived by: her husband, Mark Stogdill of Centerville, Iowa; son, Nickolas Stogdill of Centerville, Iowa; her parents, Larry Mulcahy of Cincinnati, Iowa and Lorraine Mulcahy of Centerville, Iowa; a brother, Scott Mulcahy and his wife, Leanne of Cincinnati, Iowa; mother and father-in-law, Bill and Earlene McElroy of Centerville, Iowa as well as several nieces and nephews.Funeral Services will he held Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Terra Amundson officiating. Burial will follow at the Haines Cemetery in Centerville, Iowa. Visitation will be held at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home on Friday, November 5, 2010 from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM with the family present from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.A memorial has been established to Nick's College Fund and can be mailed to or left at the funeral home.
