Lucy Rosella Stubbs' Obituary
Lucy Stubbs, 79 of Corydon, passed away on March 30, 2022 after her third courageous battle with cancer at Wayne County Hospital in Corydon. She went home to be with her Lord, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
Lucy Rosella Smith was born on November 23, 1942 to Milo Clifton and Ida Pearl (Driver) Smith in Peru, Iowa. She attended school in Clarke County. On July 23, 1977, Lucy was united in marriage to Danny Stubbs.
Lucy was so proud of her family and treasured her time spent with them, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed her flowers. Lucy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Corydon and loved her church family.
Lucy is survived by her husband, Danny Stubbs, her children, Laura Piercy (Ron Spidle), Lynne Skinner (Duane), Lisa Perkins (Gordon), Lee Anna Wilkinson (John), Lucinda Piercy, Cristy Rhoades (Jim), Jeffry Piercy (Becky), Randy Stubbs (Missy), Christina Stubbs, and Clinton Stubbs, 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, brothers, Kenneth Smith and Donald Smith, sister, Marjorie Reynolds, and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Virginia Pfander, Florence Smith, Russell Smith, Paul Smith, John Smith, Mary White, Victor Smith, Dorthy Bowlsby, William Smith, Twyla Mathis, and Shirley Smith, grandsons, Andrew Giesken and Shane Schofield, and great-grandson, Teddy Skinner.
Funeral service for Lucy will be held at the First Baptist Church in Corydon on April 7, 2022 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Murray Cemetery in Murray, Iowa. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at the Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon with family present from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
