Lucille Irene Kauzlarich, age 87, of Centerville, Iowa, died Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Grant and Amy (Sedore) Thomas on September 19, 1921 in Eldon, Iowa. She graduated from the Eldon High School in Eldon, Iowa.On April 2, 1949, Lucille was united in marriage to Stephen Kauzlarich. She worked along side her husband at Steve's Plumbing and Heating in Centerville, Iowa as a bookkeeper and receptionist. She attended Drake Avenue Christian Church in Centerville.She is preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Wilbur Thomas, Clarence Thomas, Alvin Thomas and Hillary Thomas; sisters, Mae Thomas, Ethel Harward and Gertrude Holstrom.Lucille is survived by: her husband, Stephen Kauzlarich of Centerville, Iowa; daughter, Sandi Ellis and her husband, Bill of Rathbun, Iowa; brothers, Albert Thomas of Eldon, Iowa and Noah Thomas of Illinois; grandchildren, Brett Ellis and his wife, Laura of Ottumwa, Iowa, Tyler Ellis and his wife, Katrina of Albia, Iowa and Mollie Barger and her husband, Bobby of Centerville, Iowa; and eight great grandchildren.A joint funeral services with her husband will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10 AM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Carl Heien officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 from 1 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 6 pm till 8 pm at the funeral home.A memorial fund has been established and will be named at a later date.
