Lucas Andrew Parson's Obituary
Lucas Andrew Parson, age 47, of Centerville, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025 at his home.
Luke was born on May 21, 1978 in St Louis County, Missouri, the son of Perry and Diana (Newquist) Parson. He graduated high school from the Missouri Military Academy. He furthered his education in Hannibal at La Grange College, and at Indian Hills Community College, obtaining his building and trade certificate. He was united in marriage to Chrissy Brace, and to this union, three children were born, Maddison, Bradden and Dylan. The couple later divorced.
When Luke was younger, he enjoyed being on his grandparent's farm and volunteer work for the elderly. He loved to be around them and talk with them about life stories. The love of speaking never went away for Luke. He was a jokester, who loved to make everyone around him laugh and smile-especially if you were having a bad day. He began shooting pool as a favor to a friend, but quickly realized he was pretty good at it and had a good time with friends and family. He joined the local pool league, shooting weekly with friends.
Luke loved doing masonry work when in the field. He loved to show up on a worksite and be ready to work. He was also a volunteer firefighter for Mystic Fire Department for a period of time. He most recently cherished the time he spent as a bartender at Gordie's Bar and Grill, making lasting friendships and new ones daily. He could spark a conversation and make friends with anyone! In his free time, he enjoyed backyard croquet, driving anything with wheels-especially a motorcycle. Most importantly, Luke cherished his children and grandchildren. He would speak about them often and was excited to see them all grow throughout life. Luke will be dearly missed by many in the community.
Left to honor Luke's memory are his parents, Perry and Diana Parson; his children, Maddi (Cody) Mackin, Bradden Parson (Summer McSweeney), and Dylan Parson; three grandchildren, Zayden Mackin, Delilah Parson, and Adeline Parson; as well as several extended family members and friends.
Luke was preceded in death by his grandparents and great grandparents; his close cousin, Nathan Hornick; and his friends, Roy Silhanek and Jamie Zaputil.
