Louise Thomas' Obituary
Louise Thomas, age 88 of Russell died Thursday evening December 18, 2003 at the Chariton Nursing and Rehab, Chariton, Iowa.
She was born April 20, 1915 at Monroe County the daughter of Deln0 and Bessie (Horner) LaFavre. She was raised on a farm outside of Russell and attended school in Russell. She was married Herman (Rusty) Thomas in Russell on October 10, 1937, he preceded her in death on August 17, 1973. She and husband operated the Russell Cafe. Later she worked at Russell Produse and then the Corner Restaurant.
She is survived by a granddaughter Stephanie Thomas of Urbandale, Iowa, a great granddaughter Elizabeth Thomas, a brother Glenn LaFavre and his wife Mary Eileen of Rock Falls, IL., a sister Jennie Parks Spry of Urbandale, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rusty and her son Bernard in 1974.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday afternoon at the Methodist Church, Russell with Pastor Cheri Whisler officiating. Visitation will be from 1PM until service time at the Church. Burial will be in the Russell Cemetery.
