Louise Callen's Obituary
Louise E. Callen, age 92, of Numa died Tuesday morning, November 23, 2004 at home.
She was born September 27, 1912 the daughter of Fred and Elsie (France) Shaw at Sylvia, KS. She was raised in the west and went to school at Julesburg, CO. She married Claude Callen on October 3, 1930 and he preceded her in death. Louise and Claude farmed for 35 years, she also worked at restaurants. She loved to quilt, crochet, read, garden, cook and spend time with her family.
Louise is survived by 6 children: Dorothy Thomas and her husband Wendell of Promise City, Iowa, Sue Brown and her husband Larry of Centerville, Bill Callen and his wife Linda of Moulton, Iowa, Betty Callen of Centerville, Barbara Brist of Lakewood, Colorado, Claude Callen and his wife Debra of Centerville; 17 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren, a brother Gene Shaw of Grand Junction CO, and a sister Bonnie Ulrich of Greeley, CO.
She was preceded in death by her husband Claude, daughter Corene Callen, brothers Lawrence, Chub and Charles Shaw, and a sister Alice Denney.
Funeral services will be held Friday 10 AM, November 26, 2004 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Pastor Carl Heien officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday evening November 24, 2004 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Hanes Cemetery. A memorial has been established and may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
