Louis Shinogle's Obituary
Louis Shinogle, age 88, of Centerville died Tuesday evening, September 30, 2003 at Golden Age Care Center, Centerville.
He was born July 22, 1915 at Centerville the son of George Shinogle and Matilda Anderson Shinogle, He was married to Mary Virginia Farnsworth in Sacramento, CA., Feb. 28, 1942 and she preceded him in death 2-5-1989. He was a retired manager of the Caylor Lumber Co. and a veteran of W.W.II. Louis liked woodworking and carpentry. He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Centerville and the American Legion,
He is survived by a sister Mrs. Marguerite (Wendell) Parson of Centerville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, a brother Francis Shinogle and a sister Virginia Parson and his parents.
Funeral services will be held Friday 2:30 PM at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Centerville with Pastor Gary Kinkle officiating. Organist Pam Young will accompany Linda Stephens singing Amazing Grace and What a Friend We Have In Jesus. Friends may call Thursday with the family present from 6-8pm at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home. Burial will be in teh Oakland Cemetery, Centerville. Casket bearers will be Jim Shinogle, John White, Ray Berner, Don Crow, Byron Oberheim, and Dean McDanel. A memorial has been established to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church and may be left or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, PO Box 6, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
