Lou Etta Houston's Obituary
Lou Etta Houston, age 92, of Centerville, Iowa, formerly of Moulton, Iowa, died Thursday, July 22, 2004, at her home in Centerville, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Abraham and Anna (Bass) Ballanger on February 10, 1912 in Iconium, Iowa. She graduated from Glenwood High School in Glenwood, Missouri.Lou Etta was united in marriage to Eugene C. Houston on March 4, 1934 in Shibley Point, Missouri. During her lifetime, she was a Homemaker and a Home Health Care Aid. Lou Etta was baptized at the Hilltown Christian Church and later attended the Cincinnati Community Church.She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Eugene C. Houston on May 23, 1985; and two grandsons, Joe Heartley and Terrence Houston.Lou Etta is survived by: her daughter, Lois E. Heartley of Centerville, Iowa; her two sons, Lowell Houston of Moulton, Iowa and David Houston and his wife Linda of Millersberg, Missouri; three sisters, Opal Henderson of Carlisle, Iowa, Alzada Ballanger of Moulton, Iowa and Gertrude Pick of Centerville, Iowa; as well as 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 26, 2004 at 10:00 AM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home, 311 East Broadway, Moulton, Iowa with Rev. Donnel Logsdon officiating. Burial will follow at the Hardin Cemetery, north of Moulton, Iowa. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 25, 2004 from 1:00 PM til 8:00 PM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, Iowa.
