Lola Margaret Barber's Obituary
Lola Margaret (Davis) Barber, age 87, of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023 at her home.
Margaret was born on October 17, 1935 in Moulton, Iowa, the daughter of Harold Wilbur Davis and O'leta (Martin) Davis. She graduated from Moulton-Udell High School. On October 24, 1952, Margaret was united in marriage to Vance Barber, and to this union, three children were born, Richard, Dennis and Gary.
After high school graduation, Margaret accepted a position as an Administrative Assistant at Cargill. She worked there for over 40 years until her retirement. In her free time, she loved gardening and golfing, watching sports, shopping and making annual scrubbies at Christmas time.
Left to cherish Margaret's memory are her children, Dennis (Doreen) Barber of Mitchellville, IA, and Gary (Janette) Barber of Centerville, IA; seven grandchildren, Michelle Alanis, Christina Barber, Dawn Barber, and Danielle (Joe) Gardner, Micki (Zig) Kauzlarich, Tina (Scott) Talbot, Angela (Rob) Talbot; 11 great grandchildren, Brogan Kauzlarich, Bud (Krista) Kauzlarich, Chase Kauzlarich, Kegan Talbot, Alix Talbot, Jordon (Mario) Villarreal, Haven Talbot, Devin Alanis, Noe Alanis, Dakkota Barber, and Delilah Barber; two great-great grandchildren, Jayde Villarreal and Sonny Kauzlarich; three sisters, Helen Masimore, Carol Hull and Pat (John) Dole; a brother, Dale (Mary) Davis; sister-in-law, Joann Davis; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Vance Barber; her parents, Harold and O'leta Davis; her son, Richard Barber; and her brother, Kenneth Davis.
Per Margaret's wishes, cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of life service will be Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Visitation will be Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 2:00PM to 3:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Burial will take place at Sunset View Cemetery in Moulton.
