Lois LaRue Olson's Obituary
Lois LaRue Olson, age 99, of Centerville, Iowa, died Sunday, June 11, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center Long Term Care in Centerville. She was born the daughter of William and Ollie (Pottorff) Stufflebeam on August 5, 1906 near Bloomfield, Iowa. She graduated from the Udell Community Schools in 1924 and later received her Normal Training at the State Teacher College in Cedar Falls, Iowa.On March 13, 1930, Lois was united in marriage to Edward A. Olson, Jr. in Albia, Iowa. She taught school for many years in a Rural Appanoose County School and later worked at the Defense Plant in Burlington, Iowa during WWII. For over 9 years, Lois was a Dietitian Assistant at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a member of the Fist Evangelical Lutheran Church in Centerville.Lois is preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Edward A. Olson, Jr. on January 5, 1992; sisters, Lola Jeager and Erma Morrison; brother, Otis Stufflebeam; great grandson, Joshua James Howard.She is survived by: her daughters, Bonnie Landry of New Brighton, Minnesota and Norma Stevenson and her husband, Martin of Des Moines, Iowa; Five grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and three Great great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Dr. Gary Kinkel officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Ararat Cemetery east of Centerville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 from 2 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 6 pm till 8 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to either the Mt.
