Lois Maxine Micetich's Obituary
Lois "Peg" Maxine Micetich age 90, of Lineville, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Westview Acres Care Center in Leon.
Peg was born on November 28, 1933 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Jackson "Roy" and Leona (Chance) Davis. She graduated from Centerville High School with the Class of 1952. On February 28, 1953, Peg was united in marriage to Carl Micetich. They were the proud parents of seven children, Kathy, Britt, Brenda, Tim, Holly, Bruce, and Stephanie.
After graduating from high school, Peg worked as a secretary for the Iowa Southern Utility (ISU) Company until the birth of her first child. She was an excellent cook and seamstress and an amazing mother who loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart.
Through the years Peg sold Avon, volunteered as a secretary for the Aglow Organization, and was a volunteer at the Good Samaritan Center in Centerville. She attended church at the Church of God in Centerville and the Assembly of God in Lineville. She was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ and donated to many ministries and charities. Despite her modest means, she cheerfully gave anything she could to help family and friends in need. She was a prayer warrior and witnessed her faith to everyone she met. Her greatest wish was to see all of her family and friends in heaven one day.
Left to cherish Peg's memory are her children, Kathy (Gene) Vaughn, Brenda (Terry) Brooks, Tim (Lori) Micetich, Holly (Brad) Miller, Bruce (Chris) Micetich, and Stephanie (Mike) Grim; her daughter-in-law Marilyn Micetich, her sister Wilma Jean Wilson; 17 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous extended family members.
Peg was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Davis and Leona (Chance) Woolsey; her step-father, Frank Woolsey; her husband, Carl Micetich; her son, Britt Micetich; her siblings, Clifford Davis, LaVern Davis, and Judith Coffman; and her step siblings, Harold Woolsey, Howard Woolsey, Floyd Woolsey, Mary Alice Byrom, and Loyd Woolsey.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:00PM on Friday, July 19, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Inurnment will follow at Haines Cemetery, north of Centerville. Visitation will take place Friday, July 19, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 4:00PM-6:00PM.
